The Selangor authorities are building a bund to contain the water contamination at Sungai Buah on Oct 30, 2016.

The Selangor government has sent evidence of pollution in Sungai Buah to Putrajaya.

Elizabeth Wong, tourism, consumer affairs and environment exco, says on Oct 30 the state government has passed the water and soil samples to the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry.

The Star reported the natural resources and environment minister as saying on Oct 29 that a joint investigation into the source and cause of pollution in Sungai Buah, which flows into the Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant, will be carried out soon.

Ball now in Putrajaya’s court. State has limited prosecution powers to act against perpetrators of pollution.

This is an emergency situation while the Negri Sembilan government is withholding cooperation.
